Needed channel improvements provide opportunity to build a unique neighborhood amenity

Wenk Associates developed design concepts and construction documentation for a water feature and pocket park that includes a pond and recirculating channel adjacent to a subdivision in Lakewood, Colorado.  The channel functions as conveyance of the 100-year floodplain during storm events. Amenities include a massive, stone, water feature; pedestrian crossings; soft and hard trails that provide access to the water's edge; large benches of wetland plantings; and a grassy, hilltop overlook.
