The River North Art Park opened on August 13, 2020, to the Five Points neighborhood and community who inspired it and made it their own. The 3.5 acre park is located at Arkins Court between 33rd and 35th streets and along the South Platte River. Wenk Associates along with our team, the City of Denver, the Greenway Foundation, the RiNo Arts District, and the surrounding community celebrated the first green space in this historically industrial area. The park includes flexible green and plaza spaces for events and performances as well as day-to-day activities. Two existing buildings were repurposed for a future library, makers’ space, and café. Recycled materials were incorporated throughout the park for play features, seating, and public art, and the integration of green infrastructure into the traditional park spaces supports plantings that reflect the natural qualities of the adjacent South Platte River.
